  • I will have students competing in this year’s HS iGEM competition (I was an observer at last summer’s event in Indianapolis). If anyone wants to discuss this more feel free to contact me.

I have been planning a new post about synthetic biology… In fact, today my students began their exploration into synthetic biology by creating their own sub-cultures of four strains of E. coli bacteria developed by (or in association with) the 2006 MIT team project called Eau d’E.coli (http://parts.mit.edu/wiki/index.php/MIT_2006). We received the strains through the BioBuilders website (http://www.biobuilder.org/).

Again, I will be posting more about this once I have experienced it a bit more and can comment on it.
