Happy Kansas Day!
Kansas is 154 today. As a resident of this state since before my 2nd birthday, I have only known Kansas schools as a student and a teacher. I just wanted to take second to be thankful that I am teaching students in a state that was one of the first to adopt the NGSS. That has, for my entire lifetime at least, officially advocated for the teaching of evolution and climate change and against teaching creation science and other pseudo-scientific content. And that has provided me with a group of collaborators and colleagues that are among the most talented and respected in the country. So thanks KABT, and thanks Kansas. Don’t mess things up now, people.
Happy Kansas Day, from a lifelong Kansan! Also, it is my mothers birthday, she would have been 91! Happy B day Mom!!
This is scary stuff. NGSS is such a great step forward for the state and the nation. It isn’t perfect, but it is progress. Speak out regarding the damage this proposed regression would be!
