Nature Mapping
For the past several years, I have been working with the Wisconson Nature Mapping program www.wisnatmap.org . The newsletter below gives the current information. How can we do something like this in Kansas??
SPRING TIME!! Tom turkeys gobble, sandhill cranes arrive, fox pups are
born, and soon you will hear wood frogs and spring peepers!! Celebrate this
exciting time of year by getting outdoors!!! Then, document your wildlife
observations online at www.wisnatmap.org!!

Here’s a Canadian website that compiles of citizen science projects available on the web. Check into these and see if there is one you want to be a part of….

Of course this list is missing the Cornell projects that you can find partway down this page under Citizen Science Gateway:

Simplify and training. I used to do the amphibian monitoring for Joe Collins at The Center for North American Herpetology but the protocol requirements made it too difficult to get students involved. Setting aside a particular week like the winter bird feeder survey might make it more workable. We have field courses in the spring and fall that we could work with. It might be a good community service/service learning project.
